Norwich Cathedral

SLC is working with the Dean and Chapter and the Norwich Cathedral Trust on a very ambitious project to raise funds for renewing an an area where monastic buildings once stood. The campaign has nearly reached its target of £10 million! Norwich Cathedral now has a superb new Refectory, new library facilities and has completed some urgently-required repairs to the magnificent Cloisters. Plans are in hand for a new Visitor and Education Centre on the site of the old monastic Hostry.

Pinder Centre

Equipped with a warm pool, this facility provides hydrotherapy and physiotherapy for those with mobility problems and is a large factor in maintaining many people’s independence. By the late 1990s, the Centre needed renewal, and so a plan was prepared to raise monies to enlarge and refurbish the Centre. A target of £750,000 also included provision for an endowment fund to benefit patients with financial constraint. The Pinder Centre has raised over £800,000 substantially exceeding target. SLC has acted as consultants and advisers to the in-house team throughout the course of the fundraising.

Winchester Theatre Fund

The ‘old’ Winchester Theatre Royal desperately required redevelopment to improve uncomfortable seating, backstage amenities for performers, ventilation, storage and foyer facilities. SLC assisted the charity with an intensive period of consultancy in the first instance, reducing involvement once the campaign was established. The initial target of £2 million was substantially exceeded and funds raised (including a substantial Lottery grant) amounted to more than £5 million, enabling the new Theatre to open in 2001.
